Divisions:

Recreational (Rec-C)

For Beginner level players, this Division is intended as 'just for fun' volleyball.  If you've never played organized volleyball, or if you haven't played in a while, if you're not familiar with all the rules, or if you're learning the rules, this is the division for you.  If you are new, and forget the rules, we'll blow the whistle and let you try again.  The major enforced rules include:

  • Do not touch the net with any body part
  • Do not interfere with the other team under the net
  • No Double Contact upon receiving a serve (if you receive a serve about your head, your hands must be touching and together.
  • You cannot carry or throw the ball
  • You cannot set the ball to the other side of the net (hitting, tipping, or both hands together only)

Intermediate (B-BB)

If you're familiar with the rules, and ready to step up your game, this division has some good competition for you.  If you have ball control, and are working on your offensive timing, get ready for some long defensive rallies and fun volleyball.  You're ready to move up from Rec-C level if you've developed the following proficiencies:

  • You know the rules, you're still learning, but you know how you should execute skills.
  • Be able to receive a serve without shanking it, most of the time
  •  Bump set spike most of the time
  • Working on your hand setting
